One day, during Circle Time, a child asked how volcanoes work, so we made volcanoes the topic of our themed activities that week.
We explored the letter 'V' and the sound it makes. We sang our Alpha Friend's song 'Vinny Volcano'. We made a letter jumble and challenged to children to find the 'V's hiding on the board. As our 'Color Week' continued, we enjoyed Eric Carle's 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' In the pictures below, our 4 and 5 year olds are seen matching the colors to the correct animals. Then, a memory challenge has them practicing their writing skills with fill in the blank statements from the story. In the end, it was a tie...they both got them all right!
